About Riverfields

Riverfields will create a legacy for growth within the area, creating approximately 160 000 employment opportunities, both in the construction and operational phases. The City stands to benefit from Riverfields’ developed mixed-use precinct with a project revenue of R700,900,000. We have enjoyed incredible success in logistics and distribution centres and have seen a growing demand for office parks. This has created the opportunity to build secure, residential estates for our growing community.

Riverfields is expanding at a phenomenal rate. In our logistics and distribution centres we have 255 000m2 under construction and 450 000m2 planned for development. To date, Riverfields encompasses several residential estates. The precinct has delivered over 1000 residential units worth an estimated R2 billion in investment, with another 400 homes in the construction phase and a further 1000 in the planning phase. Our retail node is already thriving and in addition to the 17 000m2 development of the Harvest Place, we have a further 18 000m2 in the planning phase.

Transformational
12-year journey

From an open expanse of land to a thriving precinct, Riverfields has undergone an impressive transformation in just 12 years. This achievement is a testament to the vision and hard work of those who recognised the area’s potential and brought it to life through meticulous planning and infrastructure development. The difference between photographs taken in 2011 and 2023 is a testament to the progress that has taken place in this remarkable journey.

Community
Every person counts
Every person has a direct effect on the other. The idea of community starts with a sense of place, a trust in the individuals that play a part in each child’s life: secure homes, model schools, outdoor parks, access to medical care, an easy commute each day with pedestrian friendly roads and public transport, all within a sustainable blueprint of connected people-centric life in a budding location. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, professional, budding entrepreneur, teacher, student, nurse, developer or landscaper – you can grow into your life within Riverfields precinct.

Flourishing Landscape

The city comes alive as more people connect to the essential services that are fundamental for a thriving lifestyle. Riverfields is passionate about creating opportunities for growth and to supply services to the community. Through future development initiatives, Riverfields will have the capacity to create change.

Future development planned in Riverfields:

Our medical node is currently in the planning phase and will be introduced to the community through partnership with Feenstra Group and Benchmark. We plan to share more with you as the project unfolds.

Institutional and medical

At Riverfields we are working towards building fundamental institutions for our growing community. Families will be able to go to church and send their children to school within our precinct. We are currently building a large church that will seat up to 6500 people. We believe schooling and a well-rounded education is vital for every child.
Riverfields will soon be home to Maranatha Christian School, a private school for learners up to Grade 12. They will be relocating their campus to Riverfields mixed-use precinct. The project is expected to commence towards 2025 with an opening date of 2026. Current schooling options close to the area include Laerskool Kruinsig, Shangri La, Hoërskool Kempton Park, Hoërskool Jeugland, Curro Serengeti and many options for children aged pre-primary. Riverfields is also involved in a local community school with investment in social infrastructure to cater for the needs of the community and programmes for social development.
